Trojans take Holiday tourney wins

Garner survives for the 78-73 win over Leesville Road in the first round to advance in the John Wall Holiday Invitational. Alex Reed 17 second half points keeps the Trojans in the lead for the duration of the game. He finishes with 22 with KD Burt pumping in 17 with 11 rebounds. Trayvon Ferrell critical 8 points, part of his 12 for the day, gives #2-ranked Trojans (8-1) 33-27 lead at the half. The Pride erase a 16 point lead with 13-4 run to end the half. Demetric Horton reaches double figures with 10 with 8 rebounds and 5 big assists. The Trojans suffer a season high 15 turnovers to keep Leesville in the game in a rematch of the early season matchup between #2 & #4. Coach Eddie Gray’s (’70) squad are making the school’s 22nd appearance in the nation’s oldest high school tournament features the premiere programs from around the nation, this year sponsored by alum & NBA All-Star John Wall & his Family Foundation. #2 Trojans will face Cox Mill (Concord NC) Wednesday night 5:10PM. JV Trojans blast Heritage
Garner JV’s leave little doubt racing to an early 20 point lead and blow away the Huskies 72-32 at the Athens Drive JV Tournament. The win is the 51st straight for Coach Bloms squad, they continue their quest toward a three-peat in the event Wednesday night in round two vs Millbrook-Green Hope winner at 5:30PM

Freshman fall to Rocky Mount at the Tarboro JV Invitational. They will play a consolation game vs Knightdale, Wednesday 2PM at Tarboro HS
