Trojans drop first home game, GNRC lead to WJohnston

The Trojans muster just 4 hits in 9-3 loss to W.Johnston. After falling behind 3-0, Cody Jones drives in two and Jack Elliott hustles home on wild pitch to knot the game at 3-3. But it’s all Wildcats from there as Garner fail to score despite runners in their final four innings. The Trojans fall to 7-2 in the conference and vacate first place since the beginning of the season. Their five game home win streak ends as they travel to Clayton Friday night.

Noah Giroux drives in Dalton Counts in the bottom of the 7th for 4-3 JV Trojan win over the Wildcats. Counts walks, steals second and scores on Giroux’s game-winner. Chris Roddenberry complete game win for Garner (8-5). Malik Stephens 2-RBI double in the 2nd and knocks in Jalen Holloman for the remaining Garner run.

Lady Trojans fall prey to another 6th inning meltdown in 2-0 loss to GNRC leader W.Johnston. Sam Weidner cruises for five innings but bases loaded fielder’s choice and single plate the only runs of the night for the Lady Wildcats to drop Garner to 2-9 on the season. Weidner takes the loss despite 6K’s and only 4 hits allowed.

JV softball claims 12-8 win over W.Johnston.

Courtney Lawler scores three goals, Fallon Roberts and Abby Porter score goals each for Lady Trojan lacrosse but we do not have a final score (or opponent) reported from Coach Stubbs.
