Trojans epic comeback for Gray’s 497th win at Peachtree Invitational

Demetric Horton five 3’s leads a 14-point Garner comeback in the 4th to lead Garner past Shiloh GA 67-65 at the Peachtree Corners Invitational. The Trojans trail the entire game by as much as 19 off cold 30% first half shooting while the Generals were blazing at 68%. Alex Reed 10 points and KD Burt 8 keeps the good guys only barely within range down 35-18 at the break. Garner defense takes over to start the 3rd, forcing 3 consecutive Generals turnovers and 6-0 run to open the 3rd. Shiloh thwarts the Garner rally for 14-point lead after three complete even after a deeeeep 3 by Horton at the buzzer. His accuracy continues in a phenomenal last period hitting 5 straight, Donovan Evans and Trayvon Ferrell swish one each to bring the Trojans all the way back. Ferrell follow at 2:32 left give Garner their first lead at 58-57. The comeback is led by the vaunted defense that forces 8 Shiloh turnovers after just three in opening half. Horton finishes with game-high 20, KD Burt 16, and Alex Reed 11 and 9 rebounds. Ferrell adds 11 and 3 big blocks in Coach Eddie Gray’s 497th career coaching win. Garner improves to 15-2. Horton was named the Rocky River Realty Player of the Game.
