Trojans blast the Pride, improve to 3-1

The Trojan defense records two safeties and Donovan Evans two rushing TD’s in #6 Garner 45-18 win at #22 Leesville Road. Marque Maultsby highlights the outstanding defense with 2 picks and 79 yard blocked field goal return. Andreis Harris fumble return for TD after a Matthew Butler strips the Pride running back makes it 31-12 Trojans. Marcus Davis (4 tackles for loss) and Davieon Carrington (2 sacks, 4 TFLs) record 10 tackles each, Butler adds 4 sacks and 4 QB hurries part of the defensive effort that held the Pride net zero yards rushing. Trojan defense has allowed just 165 yards through 4 games, a record 41 ypg pace. Dwayne Holloway, starting in place of 2000 yard rusher Colin Eaddy, scores on 2-yard run and throws halfback option to Chester Crowder for 38-yard score and Cody Carpenter hooks up with Keion White for 20-yard TD. White sack for safety gave Garner 17-7 lead in the first half. Prestige Bellamy blocked punt gave Garner two safeties in the game for the Trojans (3-1) who improve to 6-0 all-time vs Leesville. They open their GNRC season next Friday vs SE Raleigh.
