Trojan baseball drops two at Cleveland in their opener

Trojans suffer the effects of the two week winter weeks without workouts, resulting in 6 errors and 13 unearned runs allowed in 13-3 loss at Cleveland in the 2015 opener. Jack Elliott RBI single in the 4th plates Garner (0-1) only earned run. They plate two unearned runs in the 6th on a misplayed Grayson Lee pop-up to cut the deficit to 8-3, but the Rams score five in their sixth off two Trojan errors and 3 RBI double to end the game early. Nick Phillips suffers the loss despite 5 K’s in three innings allowing 4 unearned runs. Trojan pitching, which included relief outings by Shane Ward, Wyatt Godwin and Collin Perry, tallies 10K’s on the night but 8 runners left on base downs Garner, who hosts Broughton Friday, March 6th 4PM
