Trojans blast WJohnston again, advance to GNRC Tourney semifinal

The top-seed Trojans make short work of #8-seed W.Johnston 85-46 in senior Alex Reed’s school record 108th varsity game. Reed surpasses Julius Barnes 2015 total, as the only two players in Garner history to log +100 games at the varsity level. KD Burt explodes for 22 points in just 15 minutes of action as Coach Eddie Gray uses the whole bench. Omari Harris 12 points (6-6 from the field) and Reed scores 8 with 6 rebounds. Burt matches the 6 rebound total to lead 12 players with at least a point/assist or rebound. Garner (23-2) forces 24 Wildcat turnovers and destroy the bottom seed 33-14 on the boards in their 58th consecutive win over conference opponent. They advance to Tuesday night semifinal vs Clayton, 84-83 2OT winners over SE Raleigh. The other semifinal will feature Rolesville vs Knightdale. The Rams blast E.Wake 74-54 &¬†Knightdale 62-57 over Harnett. They will play the 7:30PM game at S.Garner
