JV Trojans blast SE Raleigh to open GNRC

Chris Hunter scores three second half TDs & piles up 194 yards rushing to lead Garner JV football to 32-14 win over SE Raleigh to open their GNRC season. Jalen Conyers scores from a yard out as the JV Trojans erase 14-0 deficit at the half and steam-roll the JV Bulldogs who record just one first down after the break. Hunter scores from 45 yards out on the opening possession of the second half and Garner facing 3rd & 14. Hunter adds 48 yard TD run to give the JV Trojans the lead for good with just under five minutes left in the 3rd 16-14 after he adds 2pt run. After a heavy dose of Joshua Clemons-Wilson (156 yards) and Hunter peeling off big gains, Hunter hits paydirt from 18 yards out with 2:35 left for the final margin. Trever Brown, Colin Finney and Cody Grenier lead a relentless Trojan defense that results in (-5) yards total offense for SER in the second half. Garner JV program (3-0) records it’s 38th consecutive win.
